There's a new author in town!,

The plot, the setting and the characters were thought out masterfully and I also liked the fact that the chapters were not long a drawn out. It was a page turner all the way! Very impressive Mr. Scott! You did that! Am I reaching when I say "there's a new author in town and he's a beast with the pen!"

A excellent debut Novel,

I read through the story and I fell in love with the characters as they as if I knew them. James is an author on the rise and my hope is to read more of his work. It was entertaining, thrilling and a must read. The plot was well thought out and he painted a vivid picture of Buffalo.

This book captured my interest all the way through. I couldn't put it down. Character portrayals were great! Loved Caesar! Loved the beginning of the story and how it came full circle. Looking forward to reading more of Mr. Scott's books.

I commend the author who is a persistent African American man with dreams. I respect him for working on his craft as an author despite the obstacles intentionally presented to black males in our country so they would fail. Instead, Mr. Scott produced CZAR for our entertainment. In reading CZAR, my heart is lifted because I know this work of art is from a place in which many would not have survived to write about it but James did. He put Buffalo on the map. It's nice to read about your own hometown. The book brings backs good memories of my childhood in Buffalo. Keep writing through the painful childhood you experienced and we will hopefully lift your spirits through our support.

Buffalo City Czar is such a perfect combination of action, drama, deceit, and treachery, you almost forget that you're reading a book. From the very first chapter, I became so immersed in the story, I almost thought I was right there with Ceasar, Mike, and Black. They took me on a definite pulse pounding thrill ride through the city of Buffalo, NY aka The Nickel City.
It's almost hard to believe that author James Scott is a newcomer to the literary world. You'll laugh, cry, cuss, love and hate the characters, and the book, as much as I did. If you like drama and excitement, then read Buffalo City Czar!

I really enjoyed reading a galley of this book. Once you start reading you can't stop. At an early age Caesar was introduced to the drug game and mastered the art of manipulation. With his friends he built a drug empire and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to read more from this author.

And, what comes down the road is not at all what any of them expected.  If crime fiction is your favorite genre, you're in good company. Even if it's not, you're still in the right place because James Scott has written a tale so real and exciting, the end will have you waiting to see what he'll come out with next. Crime, suspense, intrigue and even a little romance combine to make this a must-read.
I definitely give this read 5 stars...loved the build-up of excitement!

This book right here was off the rocket! I had the pleasure of reading a Galley of this book. Author James Scott in the words of Julius Ceasar: U came, U saw & U conquered. Ceasar was about his money from the start to the end of this book. He will ride a roller coaster wit this cat from his childhood all the way thru his adult like. This is a must read.

Author James Scott pulled me into a world that I have never known with his fabulous eventful novel, Buffalo City Czar. The reading of his book kept me on the edge of my seat, from the attention getter at the beginning to the crescendo at the end. The strong bonding, loyalty, committed and then betrayal to this family was well written and adventurous!!! Thank you Mr. Scott and I look forward to the sequel and many other books by you! This is one of those books that have you wanting more with each turn of the page. It will take you along through the streets as you see how Caesar's determination and knowledge gives him the ability to build his empire. Each character plays a role in his success. Their continued loyalty and commitment holds true until the bitter end. One of the best books I have read in a long time. I look forward to reading more.. Great Job!
